A good year ago, 243 participants of a Slovenian car-show took a ride in a special simulator, which we have already written about as a joint project of the Ljubljana startup company NERVteh and insurance company Triglav. The advanced technology of simulating different scenarios on the roads combined with a realistic driver's work space has shown how different drivers behave while driving, how quickly they leave off, how conscientious they are in observing the rules, and whether they can prevent an accident, even if they are not causing the accident.

With the simulator, you can experience a variety of situations "live" and deal with them without risk. Sewing skills through training in unexpected traffic situations is therefore the main purpose of the simulator, as well as the psycho-physical characteristics of the driver, such as reaction time and driving awareness, as well as the influence of various interference elements such as the mobile phone.

"The event is not surprising. We can recall how many planes fell at the beginning of the aviation, even at the first highways were at the beginning of a fatal accident. I believe that this will hardly be affected by further development, "said Jaka Sodnik, associate professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, who is involved in the NERVteh project, in which, among other things, they are developing a simulation of driving to obtain as much data as possible. improve the safety of road infrastructure, affect the development of autonomous driving and artificial intelligence.

Nervtech’s simulator includes an adjustable driving platform with a greater than a 180° curved screen viewing. The platform allows movement in three axes, which simulates real vehicle suspension under varying road surfaces.

The driving simulation can feature variety of driving environments, including customised terrain and weather conditions along with edge-case scenarios and driver distractions.
